Creating Fiction

In this short book there are exercises that the author used for years with his students in high school and college and the examples of student writing in the appendix are from students the author had in his English classes. There are 18 exercises starting with "Establishing Location for your Narrative Voice" and ending with the creation of a short story. Scope & Sequence: A very sophisticated approach to short fiction for high school and above. It is designed to prepare writers to send their work to publishers. It should be used only by those really interested in learning to write. It instructs in 17 aspects of creative writing and has very fine student work as examples of what the exercises might produce.
