Words cannot express the feelings of pride I get when reading the accounts recorded in America's True Heroes - Stories of American Veterans. This book, and volume two with the same title, written by a young man home schooled, will certainly inspire anyone who reads it. I found myself hard pressed to take a break from reading one account after another of the stories, mostly in their own words, of real American heroes who served our county well. Nicholas Rider has done a great service by bringing these stories to our attention. Presently, I have a son who just returned from Iraq and will be deployed again to another part of the world. This reminds me that freedom is not free. There are brave men and women who have fought, and many have died for this great country of ours. I think every American should get a copy, read each account, and pray with thanksgiving, for our veterans and those presently serving our country in the armed forces. Read the book and be inspired by their bravery, commitment to duty, and love for America and our freedom.
