It is really fun when you find a homeschool curriculum that you can't stop talking about. I am talking about Drive Thru History. It is the best history curriculum I have ever seen! Dave Stotts takes you on a journey through history, stopping by each destination where history had taken place. He really makes history come alive! It's full throttle in reverse when you and your family join Dave Stotts on his fast-paced, entertaining, and informative joy rides through ancient and early American history. Filled with live footage, dramatized scenes, modern graphics, Scripture readings, fun, and faith-filled commentary, these virtual vacations are perfect for ages 12 and up. Included are eight DVDs, three 30-minute episodes each with a closed-captioned feature. My daughter always looks forward to doing history now. After we have watched each new episode, we can't help but tell Dad about it and urge him to watch it as well. We started Drive Thru History with the Foundations of Character DVD. This is the one that got us hooked. One thing many of our nation's founders shared was a Christian worldview. This teaches your students how beliefs influence actions, as demonstrated by Noah Webster, George Washington, Abigail Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and others. This 9-unit DVD-based cross-curricular supplement incorporates history, government, citizenship, culture, science, social studies, and technology. Features 10-minute "teaser" segments that introduce each lesson; and reproducible work sheets. 128 pages, softcover with DVD-ROM from Tyndale. Grades 6-12. Drive Thru History is a very reasonably priced curriculum which can be used with more than one child at one time or passed on to future siblings as they get old enough to understand. The teacher's guide and student pages are on the dvd which can be put into your computer to print off. So you can print off what you need when you need it. Many parents ask me for a curriculum that incorporates both fun and quality. This curriculum has both. It is well worth the small investment.
