Creation Science
Considering God's Creation is an elementary grade earth and life science program using a biblical perspective. Designed for use for grades 2 through 7, it can be adapted for younger and older students. The younger ones will need more help with the workbook pages, while the older ones (5th grade and up) will benefit from additional challenges in the "Digger Deeper" section which includes ideas for further study, research and discovery. They often require outside resources and books such as the public library. The lessons are set up to be used once a week for 1 1/2-2 hour block of time. Includes 36 lessons, some of which can be broken into several parts. For example - all nine planets are covered in one lesson. The complete program could easily be expanded to cover a 2 year period. The program begins with creation, continues with the solar system, a study of the earth including rocks and weather. Then covers the Plant and Animal Kingdom, animal anatomy and physiology, and finally human anatomy and physiology. Includes the Student Notebook, Teachers Manual and an audio CD with songs to help the students learn scientific definitions and relate them to their spiritual lives. The program also suggests that students keep a supplemental notebook to record information and discoveries.
When your kids see and do, they understand. This challenging hands-on science curriculum gives your grade schoolers (grades 2 to 5) the opportunity to do just that---understand science in the context of Creation Week! With biblical insights, they'll participate in loads of easy, inexpensive activities that reveal the wonder of God's creation. 137 pages, softcover from Noble.
