A Reason For Handwriting
Each week you'll practice letters and groups of letters from a different Scripture verse. Then you'll write the entire verse on practice paper. At the end of each week you'll pick a Scripture Border Sheet from the back of your workbook, write the verse in your best handwriting, and use your creative talents to color or decorate it. You can share God's Word by giving people your finished Scripture Border Sheets.
A Reason for Handwriting is a unique handwriting style. A Reason For Handwriting should be part of your daily classroom schedule. Each section is designed to take 10 to 15 minutes to complete, since longer periods cause many children to tire and lose efficiency. Most students quickly grasp the weekly format, allowing them to focus their attention on the lesson tips, applications, and daily practice. Since A Reason for Handwriting was designed to teach elementary handwriting, using Scripture translation with simple, easy-to-understand vocabulary was essential. Each Verse of the Week used in this series is taken from The Living Bible. The pattern of daily lessons in A Reason For Handwriting repeats from week to week. This format minimizes the time needed each day for verbal instruction, and maximizes your students' time on the task. Specific lesson tips, answers to discussion questions, and extended teaching suggestions for each lesson are found in the Daily Lesson Plans section.
