A Reason for Handwriting
The pages of this fun workbook feature manuscript handwriting based on scripture verses. Verses are chosen not only for the correct letter combinations, but also for inspirational content. The treehouse is transposed onto the beginning of each line of the manuscript ruled pages and is used as a guide for students to learn the proper sizing and spacing of letters. After the introductory review lessons are complete, students will begin a schedule of lessons that include daily writing practice of selected words in the "scripture of the week". On Day 4 the student will write the complete verse and then on Day 5 they will copy it onto a border sheet from the back of the workbook. Border sheets are outlined with wonderful black-line drawings and graphics that students can color to decorate their handwritten verse. They are wonderful "treats" for grandparents or shut-ins, aunts and uncles or friends to receive in the mail. Your young student will have an opportunity to spread the gospel and send a smile to someone they love.

Bob Jones Handwriting
The teacher's edition workbook will teach your children the basics for handwriting. It teaches good handwriting formation, letter formation, slant consistency, alignment, spacing, and neatness. It is meant to accompany Handwriting 2 for Christian Schools.
Handwriting 2 begins by reviewing the precursive alphabet. This means that the student is still printing, but is receiving instruction on starting to form the letter in a way that leads to cursive. Numbers are also formed this way. After this point, the majority of the lessons are spent on beginning cursive. Each letter is practiced by itself, then a sentence is formed. Practice sentences are Bible verses, the pledge of allegiance, and poetry.

Callirobics
Callirobics (CALLIgraphy and aeROBICS) are a unique concept in handwriting exercises. They consist of repetitive simple writing patterns (straight and curved lines) to music. The music relaxes the participants and adds rhythm to their exercises. With music the exercises become fun instead of tedious penmanship chore. Music also benefits participants who learn better through auditory, instead of visual means.
Each exercise takes about 2 minutes. We recommend to repeat it daily for a week.
In Basic Shapes to Music, students will learn eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills and how to get ready to print. Set includes 54 page workbook, stickers, and 14-song cassette or CD, which is part of the learning program.
