  • Five in a Row
This homeschool product specifically reflects a Christian worldview. Designed for children 4 to 8, Five in a Row provides a step by step, instructional guide for teaching Social Studies, Language, Art, Applied Math and Science using outstanding children's literature as the basis for each weekly unit study. Lessons include discussion guide and questions, teacher answers, hands on activities and suggestions for further study. This curriculum is intended to be extremely flexible, allowing you the option to do any or all of the exercises for each story. You may elect to skip over certain exercises which do not fit the needs of your student and you may place additional emphasis on certain exercises which seem appropriate. You will find more exercises than you can use in a week, so enjoy choosing just the right lesson elements for your students. You can adjust classroom time to fit your needs as well. By using only one lesson element each day, you can work through Five in a Row in as little as 30 minutes daily, including the time to read the book. If you choose to use all of the lesson elements, field trips and follow-up exercises, you could easily spend several hours daily. Use Five in a Row however it best suits your needs and the needs of your students. Some of the classic titles included in this program include The Story About Ping by Marjorie Flack and Kurt Wiese, Lentil by Robert McCloskey, Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans, The Rag Coat by Lauren Mills, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel by Virginia Lee Burton, and Cranberry Thanksgiving by Wende and Harry Devlin.

  • Getting Ready for Kindergarten
This book is designed to review many of the concepts and skills addressed in pre-school, or possibly at home. Due to the level, parent involvement is a necessity. You will need to read the directions to your child before he/she can begin to work. In some cases you will read the directions as your child works. One Factor built into the book is the opportunity for your child to communicate verbally, which is an essential part of your child's development. Use every page to its fullest potential by talking about the pictures. Many times the directions will focus on a topic about which you and your child can converse. Don't limit yourselves to the topics. Feel free to expand or change the topic to focus on your child's interests. This will help in increase vocabulary, practice correct usage of verb forms, concentrate on speaking in complete sentences and even build self-confidence. Some page themes may inspire a real life hands on experience such as making an icecream sundae. Hands-on experiences are a wonderful learning tool especially for the young. See how many experiences you and your child can share!
