Applications of Grammar 6 Teacher Keyhis teacher's manual is intended to give instructors the opportunity to add to their students' understanding of the English language and their skill in implementing its rules. It follows the "Applications of Grammar 6, Gr. 12" Student Book (CBD stock #0109203). In this volume, the student will be examining the various parts of speech, their internal structures, and how they are used in phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and larger verbal expressions, such as essays and other compositions. Some of the words used in the practice exercises may be new to the student's vocabulary, and their spelling may be unfamiliar. Therefore, spelling and vocabulary lessons are interspersed throughout the book. It will also be necessary to have access to a standard, full-sized dictionary. A number of writing assignments are included in this volume. Your student will need to consult encyclopedias or other reference materials (printed or electronic) during the research portion of these assignments. If your school or home does not have adequate resources of this nature, your student should visit a library. One hundred eight lessons are included along with a list of prepositions, a list of interjections, a glossary, and an index. Answers for all exercises are included. Softcover, 242 pages. |

Editor-in-Chief Book C1, Grades 9-12Editor in Chief improves students' grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and attention to detail using a standards-based thinking approach rather than drill and practice. This effective method teaches students to carefully analyze and edit stories that contain errors in writing mechanics and story details. The stories involve mixed-skills practice, starting with easier errors and becoming more challenging as students become adept at the editing process. Students identify and circle errors in each story. Then they insert, modify, or delete punctuation, words, and short phrases to make corrections. An editing checklist and annotated guide to grammar, usage, and punctuation are provided to help focus students' thinking and allow them to match their answers to applicable rules. Detailed answers are also included. Grades 9-12. 134 pages.
