Sherri, why do you homeschool?

Question: Sherri, why do you homeschool?

Answer: We homeschool because we wanted to be in control of our children's education. It is kind of like the difference between buying cookies from the store verses making your own. The store bought cookies may taste good, but there are some ingredients listed on the package, that are not pure, artificial colors, and other ingredients that allow the cookies have a longer shelf life. Most of those ingredients are not very good for a person. However, if you make your own cookies, you know exactly what the cookies contain and are probably better for you.

When you put your kids in public school, they may teach your child things that may not be that good for the child to learn. When you homeschool, you know exactly what kind of education your child is getting and what they are learning. The beauty of homeschooling is that you can tailor the curriculum according to your child's needs. Public schools can't do that.
