What about socialization?

Question: What about socialization?

Answer: People who are against home schooling often argue that home schoolers lack social skills because they have less contact with other children their age. This argument may be true in a few rare cases. We believe that home education can build self-confidence, independent thinking and lasting relationships with family and friends. One of the biggest goals of educating your children at home is to prepare them for life.

You can provide opportunities to build positive relationships through extended family, friends, church, support groups, sports, music classes, part time jobs, community service, etc. The social  possibilities are endless with the final outcome being well educated, socially responsible citizens. Your children will be less peer dependent and able to confidently relate to people of all ages.

As a parent you have an opportunity to be the best and greatest influence on your children. Remember, it's not about sheltering your children but giving them direction and purpose.
