Going Beyond the Books

Question: Sherri, what is your favorite non-traditional lesson?


Answer: The best non traditional lesson is finding books of interest to my children. I so enjoyed watching my children pouring over and devouring books of things they loved to learn about. My oldest son loved astronomy very much. Rather than making it part of his normal school day as part of his daily lessons, I purchased the best book I could at that time on astronomy. It was a very big book. He had me read it to all of my kids from cover to cover. They also poured over the book, until it almost fell apart. It was a much loved book. They learned much from it, especially my oldest son.
